Feng Shui Tips

Feng Shui is the study of how we are influenced by the world that surrounds us. The theory behind Feng Shui is that you change your life and make decisions in response to the conditions of your environment. By making changes to your home environment to create a positive energy flow (called 'Chi'), your life could change for the better! The Chinese and millions of others believe, and live their lives by the natural forces of Feng

Shui which are believed to enhance and attract good health, wealth and relationships.

Many important businesses such as The Hong Kong Bank, Shanghai Bank, Virgin Airways, British Airways, Microsoft, Harvey Nichols, the offices of The Wall Street Journal, and Morgan Bank have used Feng Shui to improve their business and harmony within the business world.

Think about these useful feng shui tips for the home when you are moving furniture or redecorating.
  • When you walk through your front door, it should open into an expansive 'feel good' space. Make sure there is no clutter and that the door does not face a mirror.
  • Arrange your furniture in a square or octagonal shape.
  • Ensure your furniture is comfortable and supportive.
  • A mirror facing your dining table automatically doubles your food! This symbolises riches.
  • For peaceful conversations and to create a harmonious environment, do not have any furniture facing your fireplace.
Feng Shui in the Bedroom.
  • Always position your bed so that you have a clear view of the door.
  • Never sleep with a beam or a shelf above your head. This is thought to lead to pressures in life.
  • Heavy beams can cause oppression and bad luck. Try adding a wind chime or a Chinese flute.
  • Give your life foundation by always placing the headboard of your bed against a solid wall. A solid wall means that you will sleep more deeply and therefore be thoroughly rested so that when you wake up in the morning, you will feel fresh and rested. This in turns means you are better able to concentrate on your work better.
  • Do not have a mirror reflecting your bed. Mirrors opposite the bed can attract a third party to the relationship.
  • Open your bedroom windows for at least 20 minutes a day to allow fresh 'Chi' to come in from outside into your bedroom. Otherwise you will be sleeping with stale 'Chi' every night. And if that happens, then how can you expect your life to bring in more good fortune to you?!
